On Wednesday, it was still below freezing all day, but the sun was out for a change. Since it was "nice" out, I got out the push mower and started it up. Why? Well, I always start adding Stabil to the gas can in late September. That way, no matter when the last time I use the riding mower, it's protected for the winter.
However, my right shoulder operation occurred in August. So, the push mower (which requires considerable strength in your right arm to start) was never treated and I was a bit worried about storing it all winter like that.
It had about half of a tank of gas. I added a little Stabil to that, and filled the tank with the Stabil-treated gas in the can. After two tries, it started running and I let it run about 5 minutes. Then I shut it off and put it away for the winter.
Again, since it was so nice, I went out and refilled the bird feeder, rather than waiting until after work and darkness.
At home after work, I made up a short grocery list of items I'm out of or need for a dish (I mean, since I have to go out tomorrow anyway). After that, I looked around and started thinking of what chore I might accomplish. Then, it hit me. I am off work for the next 11 days! There isn't one damn thing that important that it has to be done tonight. So, I took the rest of the night off.
Oh, I made my mother's Tuna and Peas and served it on top of wide egg noodles for supper.
Happy Birthday Dad!
