I woke up at 7:30 AM on Saturday. I quickly shaved and showered (I had a 9:00 AM haircut appointment). I made it to the barbershop just in time and got my hair cut. BTW, it was damn cold out there. The high today is only 15 degrees F. with about a 20 MPH wind!
I stopped at Westborn to pick up some shelled pistachios and then went back home. I filled in the Blog Entry and then got directions from my house to my Brother Carl's (Lu and Sadie have to stop there on their way up to visit with my son Jeremy's family).
They left around 1:00 PM and I started my weekend laundry. Then I reluctantly (you do remember the temperature, right?) pulled down the attic stairs and went up to get the Christmas tubs.
Yes, its time to take down all the decorations. As much as I like to put them up, I hate to take them down! Not only is it a pain, but then the house looks so bare. Nevertheless, by 4:00 PM everything inside and out was put away for another year.
I put in the second load of clothes and started making my lunch/dinner: Pasta alla Carbonara. Since I just made it a week or two ago, I won't bother you with the details. I put the rest of the bacon on a rack in a tinfoil-lined cookie tray and crisped it up in the oven for BLTs (or something) later in the week.
I plated the pasta and went in to watch some taped TV shows. When I checked the menu, I noticed "The Two Towers" (the second movie of the trilogy "Lord of the Rings") was coming on later, so when it did, I switched over to watching that. It ended rather late, so I went to bed.
