I woke up to the insistent call of the alarm on Monday at 5:30 AM. I tip-toed around the house while getting ready for work. I did watch the Weather Channel (but with the sound turned way down low) and left the ladies a note that there was lake effect snow around the Cleveland area. It was snowing here as well and the road was slick on the way to work.
I was all by myself at work until about 8:30 AM when the other folks started to arrive (unlike me, they all live a considerable distance away). They each had their own horror stories of snow and ice and two-hour drives.
At lunch I stopped at Meijer's and bought a heating pad. Then I stopped by CVS and picked up a prescription. When I finally got home at 11:30, the ladies were already gone. They both left me nice notes thanking me, BTW.
When I got home from work at 5:00, I was bushed! After 12 enforced days off, that was a LONG day!! I went through the fridge and threw stuff out (garbage day tomorrow) and found the rest of the cheese ball Lu left me. So, since I was tired anyway, I ate that with crackers and olives for dinner.
I had two nice phone calls from friends (thanks!) and then I washed the towels, etc. that they nicely had draped over the washer before they left.
I managed to get them in the dryer before I lay down to watch TV. I plugged in the new heating pad and found it didn't work! Dammit!! I fell asleep around 9:00 PM and woke up (wide awake) at 11:30. Oh, oh...
