I woke up at 6:00 AM on Tuesday and got the garbage out to the road. I put on a small pot of coffee and got ready to face the day.
I watched the Today Show until 9:00 AM (I like the Today Show). Oh, BTW, it started snowing here (small flakes, but steady) just after 8:00 AM. By 9:00, all the flat surfaces (the concrete patio, the driveway, etc.) were covered in white.
I did go out briefly at 10:00 AM. I backed the car out of the drive, onto the road and then backed it into the garage. I think it's easier to bust through snow drifts going forward than backwards. It was snowing quite steadily at that point.
I started sweeping the house around 11:00 AM. That's one of the things I didn't get to over the weekend (it just wasn't that bad, then); but now there's Caley hair everywhere. I knew it would mess with my back (which is why I didn't do it over the weekend) but its time.
I noticed the snow had lessened a bit around 1:00 PM, but I am not fooled. The worst is yet to come.
I lay down at 3:00 PM to try and get a nap. I didn't really fall asleep, but my back felt better when I got up later.
It's still snowing (a little harder now). I'd guess I have about two inches out there at present. Since the winds are from the East-Northeast, it's really swirling around the patio and I am starting to get some drifting back there. As long as it stays out back (and away from the driveway), I'm hoping I'll be okay.
At 5:30 PM, I started making dinner. I'm making the catfish and wild rice again. Since I've explained that process several times, I just took a picture for you. By 6:30, I had eaten and put everything away.
I got my coat, hat and boots and went out to retrieve the mail (and check on conditions). I'd say I got 3-4 inches of snow so far. However, it's pretty light and the temperature is right at 27 degrees F. (perfect temp for salt - too cold and it doesn't work well). So, I decided to shovel off the garage apron. When I got that finished, I salted it as well. Hopefully the next few inches will hit the salt and melt.
Well, that didn't help my already tender back, either, so I took the rest of the night off.
