The Friday Finale...

Friday started with a sunny day, but cold, here. It was only 35 degrees F. at 11:00 AM when I went home for lunch.

I changed my mind about "community companionship" and blew off the last week of the Lenten fish fry at St. Vals. I know, I know... I should have tried it. But it's late, I'm bone tired and I don't feel like any "community companionship."

Back home after work, I changed clothes and then answered the phone. It was my son Jeremy, calling about an urgent business problem. I don't want to get into it, but upper management at his company has decided that IT costs are too much. We talked about strategies and I agreed with most of his conclusions. We hung up when he reached home.

As I said, I was really tired (it's been almost four months since I worked two 40- hour weeks in a row). But I told myself to "buck up" (that's the cowboy in me) and went through the circulars to make my grocery shopping list for Saturday morning. I finished that up after checking all my emails, etc., just after 7:00 PM.

I had an apple at 3:30 PM, so I wasn't really hungry yet, but I warmed up a can of chili for my dinner.

I watched just a little TV before going to bed too early, which is why I woke up at 2:00 AM and was still awake when I wrote and posted this after 5:00 AM. I plan on going to bed after this and sleeping till noon (but I won't).

Sigh...
