Fun Friday

(Actually, I made that up. But how many times can you write: It was another uneventful day? I wish spring would hurry up so I could get to work outside!)

I went to work and then at lunch, I went to Westborn for a few items I needed for dinners this weekend. So, I picked up some lemons, fresh basil, prosciutto, Canadian bacon and sharp cheddar cheese.

At home, I unpacked the car, treated the cats and ate lunch. Then I went back to work.

Once home for the evening, I gave some thought to supper. But, I ate my apple at work at 4:00 PM (hey, I was busy) and wasn't really hungry. But, around 7:30 PM, I decided I better make some food. So, I got out the two ocean perch filets I'd bought at Meier's. I set up my breading station (flour, eggs and corn meal). BTW, this is the way my Mom always made ocean perch (with cornmeal). Now she always used frozen blocks of fish, but I loved that taste, anyway.

So, I took out the fresh ocean perch and unwrapped it. I smelt it and was stopped in my tracks! They say if you buy fish and it smells like the ocean, it's good. If it smells "fishy," it's bad. Well, this didn't smell just "fishy," it smelled like a girl gone wrong!

I wrapped it back up, walked it out to the garage and put it in the trash. Damn!

I was not that successful putting the flour and cornmeal back in their packages, but I managed it the best I could. I put the eggs back in the fridge and then warmed up a bowl of my clam chowder.

I started watching reruns on TV, waiting for the newest "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on the Food Network at 10:00 PM. It finally came on and I settled in to watch it.

I talked t m daughter Mellisa, then.

After we hung up, I went to bed. I'll watch the last ten minutes of "The Best Food I Ever Ate" tomorrow.
