Wednesday Washout

It's supposed to be 60 degrees F. here, today, with little or no wind. So, I hoped to get the side lawn racked.

I wore my leather jacket into work, but switched it out with a spring jacket at lunch.

Back at home after work, I switched on the computer. I went to a site I'd sent myself and then tried to go elsewhere. But, Caley the cat had tried to jump up on the desk, missed it and knocked the modem over. All of a sudden, my Internet was gone!

I reset the modem and tried it again... No dice. I was pissed! I wanted to rake the side lawn tonight! But, I called Brighthouse and asked for help (after I reset the modem again with no results.)

She said she showed I have a blah, blah, blah with a battery going into the modem and I needed to replace the batteries. I told her, "Bullshit, there are only three leads into the modem. The power, the phone line and the computer jack. None of them have any in-line batteries!"

So, she said she would reset the modem and give it five minutes and try it again. So, I did. No luck!

So, I gave up and called the Web Administrator. He suggested pushing the bottom button (on my modem, it says battery) and waiting five minutes. So, I did.

By God, it worked!

Finally, I went outside. Rather than begin raking (it was getting late), I took the tarp off the outdoor stuff. The tarp I laid on top of the grille and the lawn tractor (its big!) to thoroughly dry before putting it in the attic for the summer.

Then I set up the outdoor furniture and hoses and put the wheel barrow in place.

Back inside, I put the Wednesday laundry I'd started earlier into the dryer and set the stove timer. I ate some reheated pasta for my dinner.

After hanging up the laundry, I watched a little TV but went to bed early.
