I slept through most of the night for a change and woke up just before the alarm clock on Thursday. I guess working outside agrees with me! I made a cup of that Express Instant coffee from China and, Rick was right! It was delicious!! I got to work just before the storm broke. I got sprinkled on, but an hour later, it was coming down in buckets.
The thunderstorms had moved on by the time I went home for lunch, and it was back to a light drizzle. When I got home from work, I checked the rain gauge and we got another half-inch of rain today (with the potential of more overnight).
I changed clothes and went out in the garage to work on the riding mower. I took off the two blades and sharpened them with my Dumore (a rotary tool). I cleaned off the inside of the deck with a paint scraper, digging out as much dried grass as I could reach. Then I put the blades back on.
I got out my step, an allen wrench set and a pair of scissors and went around to the street-side of the new arbor. I tightened up the first two bolts I originally got in (I had loosened them when I was having such problems getting the other side to line up and just remembered that today). Then I cut off the yellow wire ties. I put everything away again and was back inside by 6:30 PM.
I did finally get in touch with Lu, both to wish her and Sadie "Happy Mother's Day" and to find out her itinerary for our grandson Joe's upcoming graduation.
I warmed up some leftovers for my supper.
I started watching an old movie on TMC, but fell asleep before it was over (it wasn't all that riveting).
Joe's going to graduate this year?? Wow, we are getting old, John!
