For once I didn't go anywhere at lunchtime on Thursday. I went home and ate the last of the potato salad.
I ran an errand after work, so didn't get home until almost 6:00 PM, though. I treated the cats, changed clothes and then went out in the garage for tonight's tools. It's warm again, BTW (84 degrees F. here in Redford).
I heard the phone ringing, so I went back in the house, but it had stopped by the time I reached it. It was Lu on her cell, so I called her back. She let me know when she would be arriving next weekend. She's coming up for our grandson Joe's graduation ceremony and then to take our granddaughter Riese back to Virginia for a vacation.
Back to work, I took the tree trimmer thing and went out back to cut off some branches that were drooping way out back. They were threatening to scalp me when I cut the grass. While I was back there, I noticed a rose I'd planted last year had finally bloomed.
So I went inside and grabbed the camera and a coffee can filled with fertilizer. I took the photo and then fertilized the four rose bush plants. Back inside, I posted the picture and then went out to the patio.
I mulched around the reflecting pool and under the Japanese maple (you know, the one my brother Carl can't seem to grow, LOL).
It was getting late and I was getting hungry, so I stopped for the night.
Back inside, I ate some delicious pasta salad that Carla had made. I could easily identify the sea shell pasta, raw zucchini and yellow squash, and red onion. What I couldn't figure out was the mushrooms - were they lightly sauted? And, was there cheese in it as well? I dunno, but it was good!
I was whipped from the work and the heat, so I went to bed at 9:30 PM.
Very close! The vegetables and mushrooms (excluding the onion and bell pepper) were lightly sauteed with garlic and herbs. The cheese was fresh mozzarella. Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps your wonderful brother could post some pictures of what he CAN grow! including Koi...so there
ReplyDelete@ Carla: Thanks again!
ReplyDelete@ Brother Carl: Sure! Send them along and I promise to post them
@ Carla: You sauteed the veggies in a pasta salad? I never hear of that! Sounds like it worked.
