It was a beautiful day here in Michigan on Wednesday. At lunch, I stopped and bought some herb plants, mulch and fertilizer at Home Depot.
Back home after work, I changed clothes and went out to cut the back lawn. I immediately had problems (sigh). When I pulled the lever for the PTO (to engage the mower) nothing happened! I spent the next hour laying on the grass, trying to figure it out.
Three things finally became apparent. The cable that engages the idler pulley so the blades come on is badly frayed and needs to be replaced. The idler pulley pivot point is either rusted or worn out. And, finally, the deck is still not level.
But I got it working and cut the back yard.
With everything put away and the perimeter buttoned up, I went back inside. I wasn't really hungry, so I fixed a plate of Trisquits and cheese to nibble on.
I took a phone call from a friend and then read a book until bedtime.
