I checked the rain gauge Thursday morning and I picked up another half inch overnight.
The dealership called and left a message saying the car's done. I asked Jake to go with me to run out there and get it Friday at lunchtime.
I ate the last BLT for lunch. It was excellent!! Then I trimmed up the sweet corn that I'd stashed in the fridge, put it in my stock pot and filled that with water. I put a dinner plate on top to hold the corn in the water (it tends to float, otherwise).
After work, I changed clothes and did some inside chores. Then I walked out back. I weeded the raised bed garden. Then I lugged the birdseed outside and filled up feeder.
I talked to B___ for a bit on the phone, and then went out front to fire up the grille. I used two more cans of lump charcoal this time as I have another 10 ears of corn to roast.
When the coals were ready, I put on the corn. Again, I turned them every five minutes (1/4 turn). As I said before, this results in perfectly roasted sweet corn on my grille. If you're one of "those" people who use gas instead of charcoal and have the advantage of setting your temperature, my temp varied between 350 and 375 degrees F.
When the corn was done, I moved it to the cool side of the grille and cooked four hamburgers and eight hot dogs. I used a pound of ground chuck for the burgers and Koegel's Natural Casing Viennas for the 'dogs.
I plated up two hot dogs (with whole wheat buns - gotta get my fiber) and two ears of corn (butter and salt - gotta get my butter and salt, lol) and went in to watch TV.
I fell asleep watching TV, but woke up just after midnight. I shut everything off and went to bed for real.
Man, do I miss Koegel's hot dogs!!!! Don't have them here in Minnesota;( BTW little Carl is 5"11! Glad your feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Well, I was 6'2" tall in my prime, but I noticed I've been shrinking in the past few years. So, "Young" Carl is probably as tall or taller than me right now!
ReplyDeleteP.S. If I could figure out a way I'd send you some Koegels! Never found anything to match them!
