Saturday

I finally woke up at 8:45 AM on Saturday! I kicked the cats off the bed and stripped it. I put the bedding in the washer and then cleaned up the kitchen. The dishwasher wasn't "full" but there was enough in there that I was starting to miss things, so I added soap and turned it on.

I turned on "Saturday Morning, Over Easy" to ease into the weekend. This Friday off thing is messing with my head and I keep thinking its Sunday.

I shut the bedroom window before it got hot and then posted the Blog entry. The bedding went into the dryer and I went back to the kitchen. I cut up the other half of the watermelon for later consumption. I cleaned the counters and emptied the dishwasher.

I did a little vacuuming and sweeping, more to keep the cat hair down than to "clean" the house.

I walked around the back yard to check out the grass cutting effort this time. Nice! I pulled a few more weeds out back.

I made egg salad for my lunch (three hardboiled eggs, sliced up, some diced celery, a little mayo, a squeeze of lemon juice, some fresh snipped chives, salt and pepper). I used Romaine lettuce leaves as a wrap and ate them that way. Tasty!

I came back inside and tried to take a nap. It didn't work. So I watched some TV until Lu showed up. She started the laborious task of packing up all her stuff for tomorrow's trip home. I offered to help, but she said she needed to do it alone, so she knew where everything was and that she got it all.

We talked as she worked. She filled me in on her visit to her sister's and with Cathy. It sounds like everybody's doing okay. Lu finally varied her dinner!!! Oh, not one of my various vegetarian dishes I'd planned on making. No, this time, instead of her salad, she made popcorn with thyme and salt (no butter, of course).

We were both beat (her from traveling and a late night last night and me from not sleeping worth a crap Friday night) so we opted for bed at 9:30 PM. She went in to read. I was going to, but I got into bed, smelling the fresh clean sheets and promptly fell asleep.
