Thursday

I only barfed once during the night and as I said, I did get some occasional sleep. So, I was feeling a little better on Thursday morning. I did the Blog entry, shaved and showered and then called my boss to say I wouldn't be in (again).

The vomiting is not a distant memory and I still have that damn fever. In fact, even though it's not the weekend, I washed the bedding this morning. I been laying on it and sweating for two days now and its gross.

Besides, I am incredibly weak, still. To give you an example, yesterday, when I took the mower lower deck off, they had bent the two cotter pins too much for me to straighten and pull out. So, I ended up cutting them off with the Dumore and a cutting wheel.

So today, I need to get new cotter pins. So, I got in the car and drive to Home Depot. I walked in, bought a couple of packs of them (not sure of the size I needed), walked back to the smoke detectors and found they were out of my kind (I thought I'd bought the last one and they must had not restocked yet). Then I paid and got back in the car. I stopped at a deli and bought a turkey sandwich and some ginger ale.

My idea was when I got home; I would finish the deck, put the tractor back together and then take a rest. By the time I drove the three miles home, I was too tired to even take the stuff out of the car (well, I did grab the sandwich and the soda). I put that in the fridge, walked into the bedroom and then laid down for the next three hours! I was beat!!

But, I made myself get up and go to work on the mower deck. I got the new cable on, the idler pulley freed up and greased and tightened a few loose bolts. I should have finished the job by putting the deck back on the mower, but I just couldn't.

Instead, I went back inside and took a rinse off shower. Then I went to go lay down again.

That's when I discovered poor Newt. So, Instead of lying down, I went out and buried him. When I came back inside to lie down, I noticed I couldn't stop looking at the aquarium. So, I got back up and took it apart. I moved the fan over to its spot so it wouldn't look so obvious.

Finally, I lay down. I took a brief call from my friend B___, who didn't know I'd been sick. The first thing he said was, "What the hell's wrong with your voice?"

I notice that myself at Home Depot today when I was talking to a sales representative. My voice is way higher, (almost squeaky) and tends to break up. I suppose its from all the throwing up.

At about 9:00, I girded my loins and worked on that sandwich. I discarded the bread, the lettuce and the tomato and tried to eat just the turkey. Problem was it was way too dry. I managed to choke down about 1/4 of it and then gave up. But, the good news is that I didn't throw up!

I watched some taped TV shows and went to bed when I was sleepy.
