I agree! I know intellectually that in Manfred Mann's song "Blinded by the light" the chorus is "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night," but I NEVER hear that!
Lyrics. I sang "going out with pails in the crazy rain" for years. My son still teases me about that mix-up (sorry Ozzy, that's how Crazy Train sounds).
This past week, I found out that La Roux sings "Next time I'll be bulletproof". In my defense, "Next time I'll be Billie Bruce" makes more sense. Really.
I always thought it was "hitching a ride." Funny how the lyrics one hears in their head rarely matches the real ones.
