Monday Moanin'

It was cold here on Monday (high of only 20 degrees F.) but the worst part of it was the wind. It cut like a knife!

I remembered today to take in some antibacterial spray to clean the surfaces in my cube. I also took in some WD-40 for a sticking drawer.

I had to make a trip to two other buildings during the day (which is why I noticed the wind).

I needed to pick up some kitty litter on the way home (tomorrow is garbage day). So, I made the mistake of thinking I would just “pop” into Kroger’s and grab some. NOT! The parking lot was jammed and cars were just milling about, waiting for someone to leave. It took me almost 10 minutes to get out of there and I never went into the store!

Why was it so jammed? Well, we have snow overnight tonight (supposed to be 2-4 inches) and then what’s being described as a “massive winter storm” Tuesday night through Wednesday. There may be freezing rain first, followed by 1-2 feet (yes, I said feet) of heavy, wet snow. So, everybody is stocking up I guess.

When I finally got out, I drove to PetSmart, grabbed a bag of kitty litter and went home. Pet owners don't panic!

The first thing I did when I arrived (after treating the cats) was to call the old man I used two years ago to plow my driveway. I never needed him last year and haven’t so far this year. I wondered if he was still in business (and/or still alive). But he was and is, so I arranged for him to come any time Wednesday to dig me out.

I switched out the kitty litter and then hauled the garbage out to the road. Then I washed out the slow cooker and the skillet that I had left soaking overnight.

Next I cut the lasagna into individual portions and froze it. For my dinner, I warmed up the roast and veggies. This time instead of the au jus, I used horseradish as a condiment for the beef.

I was beat, so I went to bed around 10:00 PM.
