I Saw It!

I had a staff meeting at B73 in the morning and, after lunch, went to B50 and then back to B73 to get two quotes for wiring I need done. About the only place I didn’t go was B03 (where I should have been).

I filled up my gas tank on the way home from work. I paid $3.65 a gallon for mid-grade! And, that was after I researched gasbuddy.com to find the lowest price in the area.

Back home, I looked out the kitchen window and saw my hawk way out back, eating either another pigeon or maybe a rabbit. I used my camera with the most zoom I had and barely caught him. I took a ton of pictures and will post the best two. Remember, you can click on the image to enlarge it and then use your browser's back button to return.

When I was listening to the news, I caught a brief story about the cloud cover that was moving in. They said there were still spots where it was thin, but in generally it will make people miss a celestial event. They said at 6:55 PM local time, if you looked low in the north-west sky, you should see what looked like two bright stars moving quickly across the sky. That would be the space shuttle and the space station.

Now, I fallen for this before and never saw anything. But, at 6:50, I donned my coat and boots and went out to the patio. I got excited when I first saw some lights, but it turned out to be a plane heading for metro airport. I saw two more planes and gave up in disgust. There were just too many clouds.

But, with my hand on the storm door, I changed my mind and turned around. And I saw it. It was way lower than where I had been looking and moving faster that I thought. But, I saw it!

I ate leftovers for dinner after calling my friend, B___, to tell him about seeing the space shuttle and space station (he was unimpressed).

I watched some TV and then went to bed at 10:00 PM.
