Wow I always put a splash of olive oil in the water so it doesn't stick. I've heard to put a wooden spoon across pot so it doesn't boil over guess I'd better try that.
You know, I've done that for years, too (adding oil). But then a couple years ago, I heard that adding oil was bad. And then they said cook the pasta a minute or two before it was "al dente." (If you bite it, it should still be white in the middle).
You add the pasta to the sauce and let it cook the rest of the way and it sucks up the sauce.
