I woke up at 5:30 AM on Sunday, Mother’s Day. I drank some coffee and then eased into the day. I shaved and showered and got dressed. I listened to Sunday Morning Over Easy for a while and then headed out.
I stopped at CVS and then went to the quarter car wash. I cleaned the crud off the car, then vacuumed it out. Back home again, I left the car outside to dry (it’s an absolutely gorgeous day) and dried off the windows.
Inside, I called Carla’s mother to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. We talked for longer than usual, mostly about the tornado that touched down less than 80 miles from her apartment.
Then I called Lu for Mother’s Day. She had just survived some sort of festival and sold a lot of goat soap. She said she had three tents and five helpers. I asked what she was doing for Mother’s Day and she said: Just relaxing! I can dig it!
I told her to tell Sadie and Stacey Happy Mother’s Day for me and I hope she did.
I went outside and found the dew was still on the grass. I took a picture of the tulip that had bloomed (for a change). I went back inside and did inside things. Then I took a well-deserved nap.
I woke up rested and refreshed about 4:00 PM. I went out with my line trimmer and did my front yard. Next, I used the push mower to cut the front lawn,
Back inside, I made Carla’s version of a Tyler Florence recipe for shrimp scampi with linguine. I ate that watching my favorite Sunday night shows and then the rest of the Redwings game. I went to bed at 11:00 PM. The Redwings won, so I was happy.
