Wednesday, and not wet...

It was finally sunny on Wednesday, but still way too cool. I had to go and let a vendor in at Building 50 (just down the street from my house) at 10:00 AM. He was late (he got there about 11:30) so after I got him squared away, I went home for lunch.

Sidebar: Oh, no! Now it’s parenthesis!

Anyway, I ate way too much spaghetti (but, damn it tasted good!) and then went back up to Building 73 in Farmington. I busted my butt all the way to 5:00 PM and quitting time, trying to wrap up three projects.

The sun had done its job, in spite of the cool temps and the wind, so I had to open the window when I got in the car. (No, no, not commas! Will this never end?)

On the way home, I was diverted due to an accident at 6-Mile and Inkster Road. Tis was reminiscent of one about a month ago at 5-Mile and Inkster Road. That one the police diverted us through the side streets and it took me about an hour to get home. That was the start of my reoccurring dreams of being in a car accident and dying. It has been unsettling, but not really disturbing. However, I have been driving a bit more cautiously.

Anyway, this one, I got up close and personal to before having to turn on Inkster. The one car was smashed all to hell, but the other was upside-down on its roof. But the roof was flattened down to the top of the doors. Judging from the amount of fire trucks and police cars, the occupants didn’t walk away from this one.

Back at home after work; I spent some time pulling grass out of the gardens on the south side of the garage. Then I went out back and refilled the bird feeder. Then I watched the rest of the news.

I called B___ to let him know there’s a frost advisory for tonight. He thanked me as he does have some container plants, doesn’t watch the news and didn’t know.

I was seriously stuffed and so instead of eating dinner, I worked on the kitchen cleanup. Oh, crap! Now my garbage disposal quit! I checked the power (its there) and tried the reset button I found - nothing. I can't find a repair manual on line. I think I'm just screwed. Found the same make and model at Home Depot ($100.00) but maybe since its newer it will be quieter.

Discouraged, I went in and started watching the Red Wings game. That turned out to be a mistake. About halfway through, I made a pan of popcorn, added butter and salt and called that dinner.

We lost 4-3 in overtime so we are down 3 to 0! I think we will be joining Cathy’s Calgary Flames on the bench for the rest of the season. Bummed I went to bed.

  1. By reset I was thinking you meant the one on the GFCI yes? There is one on the disposal sometimes as well. You might check to make sure it's not jammed up(which would have tripped that reset). With the power OFF... check it with the allen wrench it came with in the middle of the bottom or use a broomstick down the drain to make sure it's turning. Sometimes you can dislodge whatever has it jammed up this way. Then hit reset and see if it works.

  2. No, there's no GFCI on that outlet. I meant the red button on the bottom of the garbage disposal. But I tried your suggestion regarding the allen wrench and got it to work!

    Thanks!!
