I overslept on Monday (forgot to set the alarm – too busy eating ribs and sweet corn, I guess). We had severe thunderstorm warnings across southeast Michigan in the morning. It sprinkled a time or two and I thought, “Here we go again, all talk and no action.” But, it rained like hell on the way back from lunch. The windshield wipers couldn’t keep up.
When I got home the first thing I did (after treating the cats, of course) was to check the rain gauge. We got just over 1/2 inch of rain in about a three hour period. That should help the lawn and gardens, but there is no rain in the foreseeable forecast.
I noticed I had a voice mail from Lu on Sunday morning. I suppose I was outside moving a sprinkler or something. So, I returned her call and we had a long chat. She’s been really sick and still sounds like it.
We had a disagreement about exactly which sister of Jyl died (I mean I know it was Brenda, but the person I thought was Brenda was not the person Lu described). So, I called Jyl to ask. Sure enough, Lu was right (I hate that).
I ate the last of the sweet corn for lunch, so I “baked” a potato in the microwave and ate that with more warmed-up ribs for dinner. I went to bed early.
