There was ponding all over the roads on the way into work. Thunderstorms ended just before 11:00 AM here (which was lucky as I had an 11:00 AM meeting across the street).

I didn’t go home for lunch, just grabbed a bite at the local Big Boy.

It was sunny, hot (90 degrees) and humid by 5:00 PM. When I got home after work, the first thing I did was check the rain gauge (but you probably guessed that). I had 1 1/2 inches of rain in it. That should really help the grass.

I did water the hanging plants (they're under the eves of the garage and porch). It was like a steam bath out there!

I watched the news and then made dinner. I hadn’t thawed anything out, so I opened a can of Spam, sliced it and the fried it. I cut up some baby redskin potatoes and boiled them for my side dish.

I ate it watching “Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves” and then went to bed.
