Labor Day

I had to actually get dressed and leave my house on Labor Day. I ran out of Copenhagen. I had to put on a jacket as the temperature dropped overnight like a rock! It was 98 degrees F. on Friday but by Monday morning it was only a chilly 40 degrees. So much for my idea of going out to the cottage and going fishing!

Back at home, I finished loading the dishwasher and ran it. I putzed around a while, doing a little of this and that. I had some tuna salad for brunch. Then I turned on the air compressor, pumped up the tire on the lawn tractor and went out to cut the back yard grass. I was surprised at all the leaves, sticks and small branches that had come down in Saturday’s storm.

I buttoned everything up and went back inside.

I fried some chicken legs for dinner (making a mess of my stove) and ate that with mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy tasted like crap, although I don’t know what I did wrong.

I watched a taped movie and then the late night news. I went to bed at 11:30 PM. I didn’t “labor” much on the Labor Day weekend, but I did get a lot of rest and enjoyed myself.
