It was cold and rainy when I woke up Monday morning (so, what else is new). I felt sore and achy, but then I remembered all the painting I did on Sunday.
The phone call to the landscaping firm went better than I expected. She apologized and said there must have been some kind of mix-up. She promised to have them back today and they would finish the job.
They hadn’t been there yet when I went home for lunch, but were there and gone by the time I came home after work.
I had an appointment with a guy at 7:00 PM to get a quote on installing new gutters and leaf catchers. So, I turned on the porch light and started reading on the couch.
Lo and behold, if the doorbell didn’t ring and there were trick-or-treater’s there: Four of them with their somewhat frazzled-looking Mom. She kinda wrecked it for me when she said, “We’re new to the neighborhood. Do you know of any “good” places to take the kids?” I laughed and told her it had been years since I had kids (or even grandkids) young enough to take trick or treating.
I did have another group of four and then one single final one. So, I was content!
The guy arrived and took his measurements. Then he came in and showed me the various types of leaf catchers, etc. The quote was about twice as much as B___ guessed and half as much as I thought.
But, the more I think about it, I realize I’ll never get any kind of return on my investment. I’d probably be way better off to just buy the leaf catchers and install them on the gutters I have. I’ll have to price them out.
I made myself a sandwich and ate that watching some TV. But then I switched to reading and fell asleep early.
I have been thinking about leaf catchers...how expensive are they?
