Wet Wednesday

Back to work…

I drove to work in the rain and it rained all day. I was glad the temperature was in the 40’s or we would have had quite a mess!

Today was our holiday potluck luncheon at work. So, I got drafted to help set up the tables and decorate, etc. I also had to find an oven, as one of the new techs brought in a cake pan filled with cold mac & cheese.

I think only three people brought in homemade food (chili, pasta salad and some sort of rolled up bread and meat sandwiches). I was in no mood to cook, so I brought in a big shrimp ring.

By and large, the party was a success. We divvied up the large amount of leftover food for people to take home. Then we all went back to work.

In the afternoon, my back started to hurt again. So, I got out the heating pad (I hadn’t used it all morning) and turned it on.

I drove back home in the rain after work.

Sidebar: Michigan has had the second wettest year since such things have been reported. If we get another inch or so, we will surpass the record!

Back home, I took my pills and sat on the bed (with the heating pad) watching the evening news. I was amazed at how tired and sore I was, but then I realized for the previous five days, I have done very little work and was mostly lying down with a heating pad. So, it’s not surprising my first day back to work wiped me out.

Before the news ended (at 7:00 PM), I had fallen asleep. I slept until 10:00 PM! I got up and ate a leftover party sandwich. Then I went back to bed. Other than bathroom breaks, I slept until the alarm went off.
