Late Night Laundry

It was still cold Thursday morning, going to work, but the sun was shining for a change. It’s supposed to get up to 60 degrees F. today!

I had errands to run at lunchtime. So, I drove over to my landscaping company and paid them for the mulch. The receptionist was out to lunch, so I couldn’t “ooh” and “ah” her.

Next stop was CVS to pick up my new prescription. Since I was there, I bought two pairs of scissors. I’m not sure I mentioned it, but I trashed my last good pair by opening the thermometer I installed on the kitchen window last weekend (the scissors actually snapped in half, trying to cut the hard plastic that enclosed the thermometer!)

I didn’t have time to stop at home or at a restaurant to eat, so I picked up a turkey sandwich at Jimmy Johns and ate that while I worked.

Back home after work, I went out and refilled the bird feeder and the empty suet cage (I took one suet cage down a while back). Now, my Brother Carl has already quit feeding his birds (this was in warm March, before it got colder, so birds are probably dying in droves in Mt. Clemens these days). But I feed mine (and the squirrels) year round. I just like looking at them.

For the first time, I filled the bird bath. It’s not supposed to get below freezing tonight, for a change. The predicted low is a tropical 38 degrees F.

Inside, I worked on my budget spreadsheet to see what I had to pay when I get my check tomorrow. Then I watched the rest of the evening news.

I remembered rather late that, since it was Thursday, I had to do a load of laundry if I wanted clean pants for Friday. So, I quickly started the washer. Since I had to stay up (I hope, or its wrinkle-city), I made a nice supper.

I boiled some Mrs. T’s pierogies (potatoes and cheese) while I sautéed some sliced onions in butter. I put the cooked pierogies into the onion and butter skillet, tossed them around some and let them get happy. Then I dished them up, added a dollop of sour cream and some salt and ate a great dinner.

I did get the clothes hung up as soon as they were dry (around 9:45 PM), then I went to bed.

No, my birds aren't starving...however, I understand they found a bunch of birds FROZEN in a birdbath in Redford...I will alert the humane society re: the pervert that freezes birds...

  3. I'm curious as to what that much mulch cost?

  4. @ Tirami: I'm embarrassed to say! This paying people to do all your BLTs is getting expensive!!
