Monday Moanin’

I got up and at ‘em with the alarm clock Monday morning. I actually was almost 15 minutes early getting to work, which was okay as I had to take a copy of the Blog entry on a thumbdrive and post it from there. I still had a little pain in my back, BTW. But that’s better than a pain in the *ss, I suppose.

I did call Bright House and after about a 20 minute wait) they said there was some sort of occurrence overnight. But they would send a signal to my router and I should check and see if it was working now. I explained (for the second time) that I was not at home but would check it when I got there.

I also called my primary care physician, Dr. Pop. The nurse said the doctor wanted me to come in today and I said I couldn’t possibly, so she said then tomorrow at 1:00 PM. So, I’ll have to burn another half day of vacation, dammit! And why? So she can tell me the same thing the Infectious Disease doctor already did! Dumb.

I had to run to Best Buy to get a printer and an external CD/DVD USB drive for something hot here at work. So, I was there with my corporate credit card in hand at 10:00 AM when they opened. I got what I needed and then asked if they had ever received anymore of the Western Digital My Book 2 TB external hard drives in. If you remember, I checked when they first went on sale and they were all gone. The salesgirl said they did have more come in (wow) so I picked one up (but this time on my personal debit card) for $119.00. So, I finally have a way to back up my entire system in case of a catastrophe without using the “cloud,” which I don’t trust.

Oh, and Carl, I had them load the printer in the car and one of our techs unload it back at work, BTW. NO BLT here, big Brother!

Back home after work, I saw a big box on the porch and knew the first of two items I bought so I can still garden this summer without BLT had arrived. The second is being shipped from the factory and not supposed to get here for another week or two. When I have them both here and set up, I’ll show you my plan. I did open the box and checked it. It was perfect!

The other reason I opened the box was so I could set the empty box out to the road with the rest of the week’s trash. Then I went back in to check and the Internet was working again. Hurray!

I wasn’t “hungry” so I just nibbled all night (crackers and cheese early so I could take my pills and half a peanut butter sandwich later on when I thought I really should eat something).

I went to bed early (as usual) but slept lousy (also as usual).
