Happy Mother’s Day!

I would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all you readers who are mothers. It still feels weird not to be picking up some purple tulips and heading out to New Baltimore to make my Mom lunch or something.

I thought about getting some anyway, driving there and putting them on her grave. But, I know she would scold me for what that would do to my back.

It so happens that my personal charity, Forgotten Harvest, is having a fund raiser and the donations are being matched, dollar for dollar, by a wealthy patron.

So, instead of purple flowers, I donated $100 in her name. According to their letter, that and the matching funds will enable them to distribute enough food for 800 meals! And I know just how much my Mother loved making Sunday suppers for all of us and our kids back on the farm...
