The light at the end of the tunnel

Since I went to sleep so early, I woke up at 4:45 AM. I made a cup of coffee and finished the Blog entry. As I said, I saw I had a voicemail from my Brother Carl that I missed. Then I went through my usual Sunday morning routine.

I waited until 9:00 AM to call him. He just wanted to warn me about something on Facebook. Thanks! I certainly wasn’t “glad” he overdid himself yesterday, but I did understand, ‘cause so did I. That’s why I, too, was taking it slow today.

I started the second load of weekend laundry (all my work-work clothes plus my home-work shorts and tee) so I had to wait to take my shower for a bit. But, I finally got it.

I gave my daughter, Melissa, a call to thank her for her apothecary jar Father’s Day present. She did say it was a reproduction (but I kinda knew that, lol!) I had to hang up so my clothes wouldn’t wrinkle. Then I started the last load (my bathrobe, bath towel, hand towels, etc.)

Once I had my home work clothes back, I went back to finish the last of the tile (I honestly thought I would have been done yesterday). I need that air compressor and hose out of the back room!

My back was ready to quit at 2:00 PM, but I kept going until almost 3:30 PM, so I could get all the trim on and the air compressor back in the garage. I still have lots of caulking, painting floor stripping and floor sealing to do but all the back-breaking tile work was done! I took a picture of the last step and inside the closet before I put back the walk-off mat.

I took off my brace and took a long rest. I made dinner (for a change) early since it was Sunday and I was hungry. I made pierogies with sautéed onions and sour cream. They were excellent!

I talked with B___ who called to see how the tile job was coming. He congratulated me and then we both bemoaned the lack of rain and what it was doing to our yards.

I went to bed at 11:00 PM.
