Monday morning, I took my first shower for work in the downstairs bathroom and this time I remembered to crack the window open enough so I didn’t fog the mirror.
I left for work 10 minutes early so I could deposit the trash from the old tile and molding removal to date in the dumpster behind Building 7. So, I was the first one at work. I drank a cup of coffee and decided I felt like shit.
I don’t know quite why it is but I always (even when perfectly healthy and strong, which I am nowhere near now) feel the worst two days (not the next day like you would think) after overdoing anything physical. So, Saturday caught up with me today. I ached all over and hurt in places I didn’t know I even had places. It took an amazing amount of both time and willpower every time I wanted to get out of my office chair.
I did call Wright and Filippis and had a very difficult time explaining that, while I could take either the morning or the afternoon off as a half vacation
Day, scheduling a delivery between the hours of 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM did NOT work for me. I imagine they are more used to people who are home full time recuperating, rather than dealing with people who go to work.
I also explained that I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning and probably wouldn’t get back home until around noon. She said that she would make a note to “try” and deliver my chair in the afternoon, but that, if it didn’t work out, they’d have to reschedule it for Friday. So, I told my boss that, instead of just taking the morning off, I wouldn’t be in all day. He said that would be fine.
I didn’t feel like eating lunch, but I knew walking would help, so I went to the Town Peddler at noon and walked around, (it’s a mix of antiques and new craft stuff). I was mostly window shopping, but I ended up finding and buying an 1890’s small, clear empty bottle that had held Fletcher’s Castoria for my apothecary bottle collection for $8.00.
When I got home after work, I found a cat had barfed on my rug next to the bed (at least it wasn’t the bedspread for a change). So, I started the wash machine and found enough other things to wash a small load. I took a pain pill and an anti-inflammatory pill, adjusted the bed and started watching the evening news.
While I was in bed, I put that SanDisk Ultra SDHC card into my camera. I just bought the 4 GB one since that will still give me plenty of pictures (and I don’t take that many pictures) before I have to unload them from the camera. By way of comparison, Jake said my Kodak camera only came with 32 MB memory when I bought it (which is why I could only take like 5 or 6 photos before it said the internal memory was full).
I tried to upload a test picture and found one I forgot to post on Sunday. I had a little difficulty, but I think it was the program not the memory card. I also found two emails from my son Jeremy, regarding press releases about the security conference he and three others had put on at the Renaissance Center in Detroit last week and The InfoWorld 2012 Technology Leadership Awards. Congratulations, again!
When I needed to take my evening pills, I ate the rest of the wild rice.
I watched the premier of the new series “Longmire,” a contemporary crime thriller set in Wyoming on A&E. It was actually on Sunday night at 10:00 PM. I had fallen asleep long before that, but I had it taped. I thought it was excellent, so I set it to a series recording.
I fell asleep again watching TV, but I woke up around 11:30 to go to the bathroom. I made the bed go flat and turned off the light and turned in for the night.
