The rain that never really came

I have waited all the past week for Monday, as it was supposed to rain twice today (once in the morning and harder with thunderstorms in the late afternoon). Which is really important. Even my lawn, which I deliberately have cut long, is starting to burn up. I think we are down like one inch of rain already this month.

But, it was cloudy when I went to work. I was gratified that Vicky loved the truck! I told her that if her mother didn’t want it, to bring it back to me. She said if her mother didn’t like it she was keeping it for herself! In fact, she might not even tell her mother about it (she was kidding about that part).

Unfortunately, she proudly displayed it on her desk so I had to answer questions about it and tell the same story to everyone who walked in the office.

It was barely sprinkling at lunch. I went to Kroger’s to do my Sunday grocery shopping. Unfortunately, it took longer than I thought and, even leaving a few non-essential items on the list out of my cart, I still was 10 minutes late for work. It had stopped sprinkling by the time I got back.

I was sore and hurt today so I took the rest of the night off, after getting home at 5:20 PM and rolling the garbage can out to the road.

I did talk to Jake who called to thank me for his birthday card and present.

I ate the rest of the stuffed shells after adding more pasta sauce before I warmed them up.

I watched that Longmire episode I’d missed Sunday night. Jake, you were right, it was excellent. I went to bed at 10:30 PM and it still had not rained…
