A soggy Friday

It was raining when I went to work on Friday. It continued to rain on and off all day. Oh yeah, its supposed to do that all weekend, BTW.

I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch and had a bowl of clam chowder. Then I took the scenic route back to work, having no errands to run today.

It was a long, gray afternoon, but it finally ended. The rain had momentarily ended, too. So, I got home at my usual time for a change. I mixed up a juice drink with that cherry syrup and water and checked my voicemail.

I tried to return the call from Wright Filippis. Of course I couldn’t get through as they are only open 8-5 Monday though Friday (who ever heard of a business in this day and age, especially one that provides services to the handicapped, that’s not open on evenings or the weekend?) Anyway, the message said they want to deliver my chair between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5. Since I’ll be at the doctors that morning it’s not going to work; neither does a delivery time that’s five hours long and spans both the morning and afternoon. What the hell kind of customer service is that? I wrote down the number to call them on Monday and then called Jake to tell him a rather funny story about an incident at work.

When we hung up, I took out the shower head with the wand from the main bath and replaced it with the old rain-shower one. It’s time I moved back to my downstairs bathroom, you see. I tried to put the shower head I removed (the one with the hand-held wand) in the downstairs shower, but I broke it installing it (It’s all plastic and I must have tightened it too hard). Now I have something else I have to buy (sigh).

I washed the tub in the main bathroom after throwing away the rubber tub mat (it was starting to mold). I left the bath chair in the tub since I don't have the downstairs shower working yet. Then I quit for the evening (I need a break) to watch the NBC Nightly News at 6:30 PM.

I did get hungry although I didn’t have any particular thing I wanted to eat (except I knew I didn’t want the last two brats yet, lol!) So, more to satisfy my hunger than anything else, I cooked a blue box of mac and cheese. I finally shut off the TV and light and went to sleep after 11:30 PM.
