Thursday

Well, it was warm and sticky on Thursday, but the promised rain never showed here.

At lunch I went to Meijer’s and grabbed a few items I needed (so few I went through the 12 items or less line) and then went home and ate the leftover smoked sausage, potatoes and onions for my lunch.

In the afternoon, they were having another open house down at Building 12, so getting out of the parking lot at 5:00 PM was a bit tricky.

Since there still was no rain, I took the time and watered all the container gardens. I trucked out water to the peonies, too. I also refilled the bird feeder and put a fresh suet cake in the holder.

Back inside, I finally changed clothes and discovered that one of the cats had barfed on the bedspread! So, I threw it in the washer along with some towels and the main bathroom bathmat (to make a decent load). Since the main bathroom floor was now empty, I used the electric sweeper to pickup any cat hair and then the Wet-Jet to wash it.

I made another Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich for dinner. I noticed its not as tasty when the bacon is cold from the fridge, rather than warm from the oven (so, next time I’ll warm up the bacon in the microwave).

I also noticed a tremendous difference in the tomatoes. The first two sandwiches were made with the “on-the-vine” tomatoes I bought last week for salads when I thought Lu was coming. Tonight’s sandwich was made with a tomato Tammy, my neighbor, grew and gave me. There was NO comparison! Give me homegrown every time!

I went to bed around 10:30 PM.
