It was 51 degrees F. Tuesday morning (at least 10-15 degrees warmer than Monday morning) so I left my coat home.
This time I really did have therapy at 11:45 AM. It was a pain in the, well, stomach again, but much easier when doing it BEFORE eating lunch. He added a few more exercises and a few more reps to the existing ones (but they always do).
When I was done, I did go through McDonalds (there’s one nearby) and got a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal (extra salt on the fries and a small cola). By the time I got back to work, lunch was gone.
I remembered to take four 500 MG tablets of Amoxicillin at 4:30 PM to pre-medicate myself for my 5:30 appointment with the new dentist. I stopped at home just long enough to bring in my empty garbage can, brush my teeth, gargle with mouthwash and, of course, treat the cats and still made it to my appointment on time.
I was very impressed with his facility, the staff and the dentist himself. They took a complete set of digital x-rays (I’ve never seen that technique before) as well as digital photos of my teeth.
Then I had a nice chat with the dentist, after he checked everything and did an oral cancer test. He started talking about capping my front lower teeth (which are worn from chewing with them, both before I had the original bridge made and since losing it). I explained to him that at my age, I don’t give a crap about having a perfect smile and teeth. I just want a bridge, so I can chew my food again.
He said if it was a matter of money, they had a 0% interest payment option. I said, no, I will pay for it when I get treated. But I want to know BEFORE I get things done what I am going to have to pay. He said they can get close, but not accurate, as sometimes the insurance pays more than they say they will (I doubt that) and sometimes less (that I can believe).
So, I set up the next two appointments. In order to fix what my old dentist screwed up and make the molds for the bridge (just the molds, mind you) my share will be “approximately” $273.00 US. I told the office manager to go ahead and schedule it (as I said, both the dentist and his staff all impressed me).
By the time I got home it was after 7:30 PM and I was beat. It had been a long day. I made myself a BLT and ate that watching some taped TV. Later on, when I got hungry again, I ate the last of the faux Roka Blue Cheese Spread on saltine crackers. I went to sleep just after 11:00 PM.
