It was very hot here on Friday. In fact, we hit 95 degrees F., just two degrees short of the record for August 31. Speaking of weather, the average rainfall for August here is 3.00 inches. We had just 2.25 inches this month.
I left work at lunch about 12:15 PM (I was working on something I wanted to finish first). I was pleasantly surprised to find the work on the Levan railroad crossing was completed and the road open again. So, I got on the expressway and got off on Beech-Daly.
I went to George’s Lawnmower Service and dropped off the tire. They seemed pretty busy and the guy behind the counter was relieved when I said I didn’t need to wait for it, I’d just pick it up on Tuesday.
I stopped at the Taco Bell right down the street and got a couple hard shell tacos (with hot sauce packets) and a burrito supreme at the drive-through for my lunch.
Back home, I wrote and posted the Blog entry. I had fallen back to sleep after I shut off the alarm this morning and so didn’t have time to mess with it then.
One of the cats had barfed on the bed, so I stripped it and stuck it in the washer. I wasn’t as ticked as I usually get, because I figured it was just giving me a chance to get a jump on the weekend wash. Then I headed back to work.
After work, I stuck the bedding in the dryer and set up the sprinkler for the gardens around the reflecting pool (there is just the slightest chance now that we “might” get a little rain on Monday).
Back inside, I set the timer and unloaded the dishwasher. With having the one whole upper cabinet emptied and now half of the dishes in other one cleaned I am rapidly running out of available space. So, the clean dishes went on the stove top and into the oven.
I put the rest of the dishes, glasses and bowls into the dishwasher, but didn’t turn it on just then as I was watering outside.
When the timer went off, I moved the sprinkler to water the garden at the back of the house and the raised herb garden. Back inside, I washed out the two cabinets with an antibacterial spray and paper towels (a LOT of paper towels). I used my step to be able to reach the top shelves without stretching too much.
While the shelves were drying, I measured and cut out new shelf liners. Then I began the laborious task of putting everything back in the cupboards.
When the timer went off, I went outside and shut off the water. Back inside, I turned the dishwasher on. I made up the bed and then warmed up the last two brats for my dinner.
I watched some TV while I taped Hitchcock’s “Dial M for Murder” on PBS. Then I went to sleep about 10:30 PM.
Hopefully your feeling better??
ReplyDeleteYes, somewhat. Thursday day and night were the worse. Now it's sort of settled into a dull ache if I don't do much. Which is kind of a problem, because I have an extensive ToDo list for the three-say weekend. But, we'll see...
