I got up on Saturday just before dawn, so it looked gloomy out. I lazed (is that a word?) through my morning routines and after shaving and showering, but on my shorts and T-shirt. Even after the sun rose, the clouds hid it, so it still looked gloomy, which depressed both my mental state and my ambition.
I didn’t do any one big thing all day, just a collection of small things that needed to be done (two more loads of laundry, clean the toilets, wash the stove top, stuff like that) interspersed with some DIY TV show watching and general laziness.
The sun did finally come out here in the afternoon, but by then I was into working on stuff inside and decided that I’d do outside on Sunday. There is a “slight” chance of rain Sunday morning, but it never rains here when they say “slight.”
I did talk with Jake, who was on his way to the Post. He said it was drizzly down there and Carla was thinking about making chicken soup for Sunday dinner. Which is interesting, because I thought I’d make some comfort food for Sunday dinner myself.
As far as food goes, you know my normal breakfast, but for lunch I made some of the blue box mac and cheese (more to use up some of the milk before I have to dump it, actually) and then for dinner I made a Marie Callender’s Chicken pot pie.
I couldn’t watch the evening news as the Ryder Cup golf tournament was on Channel 4 until after 8:00 PM. So, I mostly read (at first in the lift chair in the living room and then in bed) until 11:00. I watched the news and then went to bed.
About time you took a lazed day off....
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to adjust to the "retired" lifestyle, (less than two years away) but its hard for me. I'm used to lists and deadlines and budgets and to just screw off seems wrong somehow.
ReplyDeleteNote to Webmaster: I had to go through six (6) capthcas (sp) just to get this last comment to post. Is there anything you can do to make this a little bit easier? It's no wonder people don't comment anymore!
ReplyDeleteNope. However, if it's hard to read then click the little refresh button to the right of the entry field to get a nice fresh one.
