The weather on Thursday was a repeat of Wednesday. I left early (yet again) so I could stop at O’Reilly’s and buy a hose clamp. Unable to determine what exactly I need I bought a blister pack of several different sizes.
At lunch, I stopped at Home Depot (where else?) and bought more spray foam and a swag light hook. My order from Gardener’s Supply came in yesterday and I need a way to secure my herb drying rack to the ceiling.
Once home, I made two BLTs for lunch (using up the last of my bacon), refilled my antifreeze and went back to work. I did stop and fill my gas tank up. The warning light wasn’t on yet, but the gauge registered empty.
Back home after work, I watched the news in between answering emails. Then I got to work.
I knew you can trim spray foam with a razor knife, but it was too big of an amount for that to work. So, in a flash of brilliance, I got out my electric carving knife [note to self: clean this good before next Thursday!] and cut the excess off.
I kept trimming it until my cover board fit in flush. When it did, I liberally applied construction adhesive to every edge that looked like it “might” even touch something. Then I put it in place.
But, I needed something to hold it there. So, I went out in the garage and rummaged through my scrap wood and came up with a board and a 2x2. Then I braced my cover board against the tub with the 2x2 cut to the right length.
I quit for the night. It was already late, so I just warmed up two more brats and ate them for nourishment, rather than worry about “dinner.” Then I went to bed.
