Wednesday morning, it was less windy (only about 10-12 MPH winds), so even though it was still chilly and a little rainy, it didn’t feel so bad. Still, with a projected high of only 45 degrees F., it will be miserable for the little trick-or-treaters.
Since it was less windy, I made myself walk outside in the morning.
I went to Lowe’s at lunch, stopping first at the Newburgh Grill for patty melt. Then I picked up the weirdly bent fluorescent bulb I need for my trouble light. I probably won’t be able to use it tonight as I’ll have to keep an eye on the front door just in case I get any little beggars (I did pick up two small bags of candy on my Sunday shopping trip).
I walked outside again in the afternoon in a light, misty rain.
Finally, it was time to go home. I arrived there to find the grass cut and all my leaves gone again (this will cost me!) and cat barf on the bed. I didn’t change clothes. just shoes, (in case I do get a few beggars) but did strip the bedding. Oh yes, of course, I didn’t make the bed this morning, so the barf was on the bedspread and the sheets. That got sprayed and then put into the washer. I put one bag of candy on the ice box, near the door, and turned the porch light on, also just in case.
I did hear the doorbell ring once, but I was downstairs putting the bedding in the dryer. By the time I got to the living room, there was nobody there. B___ called to cheer me up because he said he pictured me sitting by the front door, candy in hand, waiting with a sad smile on my face like every other year.
I'm beginning to think of myself as Halloween's version of the Charley Brown's Christmas tree, LOL!
I did turn the porch light out at 8:00 PM. I warmed up and ate the rest of the mushroom barley soup for dinner with two mini-candy bars for dessert.
I messed around on the computer for a while and then watched a movie until bedtime.
