I woke up just after 5:30 AM on Sunday. Instead of my usual
oatmeal, I ate two hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Which was just enough of a
change that I forgot to take my pills! I shaved and showered and then watched
the Sunday morning news until 9:30.
Then I headed out to Kroger’s. I got everything I needed for
that stupid macaroni and cheese as well as supplies for the house and my Sunday
dinner.
Back home, I put everything away and got back to work on the
light. I was pleased when I bought it that it came with the light bulb. But, I
was not as pleased when I saw it! It was a compact fluorescent, true, but not
the kind you can screw it. It had two little tabs on the end of it that locked
into the fixture. My concern is finding another one like it when it burns out.
I took a picture to show you, but cannot post it from the house, or email it to
work.
It was about that time that I really started to ache in all
my joints, which is when I realized I hadn’t taken my Celebrex in the morning.
So, I took my pills immediately.
Wiring it and installing the fixture to the box was simple
and I was finished about 2:00 PM. I took off the outdoor fixture next to the
back door that lights up the main patio. I was surprised to see there was no box
at all! There was just a hole with the wires coming out.
Hmmm… that can’t be good. I’ll have to come up with a better
alternative. But I was running out of daylight.
So, I went inside and made dinner. I had bought a nice roast
that was on sale. So, I scored the fat cap and rubbed it with a mixture of
salt, black pepper and six cloves of garlic, finely minced. I roasted it in the
oven along with the last butternut squash from Tammy and the last three russet
potatoes.
I hate to brag, but it came out perfect! I watched some TV,
but was bummed that the Roku wouldn't work.
Oh, a side benefit from the outdoor light fixture is that it shines in through the window enough to that I don't need the night light I always kept on for the cats to find their way to the food, water and litter box.
I went to sleep around 10:00 PM.
