I woke up to the alarm clock for the first time in 12 days
and didn’t like it! But, since my only New Year’s Resolutions were to stay
employed and stay alive in 2013, I got up.
It was freakin’ cold outside (11 degrees in Redford)!
There are two things I didn’t put in the Blog yesterday (my bad). One was I
left my leather jacket and scarf in the kitchen (anticipating the projected
cold this morning) as well as getting out my light knit cap. I put that on the
table to wear this morning.
The other was to put tissue paper inside my new “dress”
Crocs. Then I sprayed them with weather-proofing stuff so they wouldn’t get
damaged by the snow or the salt we use in here in Michigan.
But, when I was ready to leave, my knit cap was gone! I knew
it had to be one of the cats. but didn’t have time to search for it. So, I grabbed my old, dirty grey fedora and
stuck that on my head and headed out.
Mid-morning, my friend Michelle from Facilities came in and
gave me a container of pumpkin soup she had made and a big hug for New Year’s.
Damn she smelled good!
I went out at lunchtime to the Credit Union to get some
cash. On the way back, I stopped at a McDonald's to get a McRib sandwich. Oh, I
know it’s some kind of mystery pork meat, but I love that barbequed shit!
When I got back to work, I remembered I had picked up a little
present for Vicky when I bought my printer toner at Office Depot. So I got it
out of the trunk, took it inside and gave it to her. She jumped up and hugged
me. So, I got two hugs from two good-smelling women in one day!
BTW, my new shoes worked great!
The rest of the day was anti-climatic and I kept getting
sleepy (I really was missing those naps I used to take over the Christmas
break) but I kept telling myself it was a short week, tomorrow was Thursday already
and Friday was payday. And, that got me through…
Once home, I retrieved my garbage can and the mail, went
back in the garage and closed the door. I treated the cats and changed clothes.
I found my knit hat in a corner of the office, BTW. It has been used at a cat toy, apparently. I messed around on the computer for a while and then watched
the rest of the evening news.
When I got hungry, I warmed up some of that chicken and
pasta I made. I started watching TV, but I fell asleep probably before 9:00 PM (I was sleeping, so I didn’t note the
time). I woke up about 11:30 PM,
shut off the TV and the light and went to bed for real.
You actually wear Crocs to work? Who do you think you are, Mario???
ReplyDeleteLMAO! No, not orange Crocs. These are Crocs on the bottom with leather sides and uppers. I never saw anything like them before and they do sound weird, I know, but they feel and look great.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to remember to take a picture for you tomorrow. Tonight I am just on the way to the bathroom and have to get back to bed...
