It was warmer here in Redford on
Thursday morning: 15 degrees F.! I knew I couldn’t get anything that would
freeze, but I left early to stop at Meijer’s for much needed paper and plastic
products and, most importantly, cat treats.
I wore my recovered knit cap and my Christmas scarf, but
still froze my a** off walking in and out of the store. It was the wind,
cutting right through my khaki pants. I got most of what I wanted and then headed
into work.
At lunchtime, I went to the Goodwill on Plymouth
Road just west of Farmington.
I dropped off all my fat pants. I can only hope they price them right as they
were all from Jos. A. Banks (decidedly pricey if not “expensive”) and worn very
little.
Since I was right there anyway, I stopped into Jimmy Johns
(on Plymouth Road just east
of Farmington) and got a #4 turkey
sandwich (with the optional cheese and a big dill pickle) for my lunch. It was
freakin’ fast! I took that back to work to eat in the half hour I had left.
The day passed slowly during the afternoon (as they all do).
But, it was finally time to go home and I did.
I washed the load in the dishwasher (although it wasn’t
quite full) because I needed the plates. Usually, it’s the silverware I run out
of first. I scanned the variety of sales brochures that had come in the mail
and made up a grocery list. In doing so, I checked out my fridge and pantry and
threw away a LOT of expired stuff.
I made a salad out of the last good parts of the Romaine
lettuce and ate that along with Kathy’s lasagna leftovers and her garlic toast.
Even reheated, it was great. Kathy really needs to relax just a little in
regard to her cooking skills!
I cleaned up and went in to watch TV, vowing to stay up until
11:30 PM (after the news). I almost
made it…
