I
went to bed early Sunday night, hoping to get my share of sleep during this
transition from winter to summer daylight saving time. Unfortunately, I woke up
at 4:00 AM (which was really 3:00 AM – oh, never mind) and could
not go back to sleep.
So,
like everyone else in the office, I spent the day dragging… Some people say it
takes them just a day or two to adjust, but it usually takes me a week or so.
I
went to work in a light rain, but it had stopped enough so I could take my
morning walk outside.
At lunch,
I stopped at the Home Depot to pick up some more sanding paper for the palm
sander (I ran out on Sunday). Then I went home and ate a brat and watched the
news. Don’t drop the soap, Kwame!
I
had to walk inside at 3:00 PM as the rain had returned,
falling quite hard at times.
After
driving in the rain to get home, I took the trash can out to the road and then
went in to treat the cats and have a cup of coffee.
I
warmed up the half of steak and another baked potato for my dinner. It was
excellent, all over again.
Now,
a downside of woodworking is the sawdust you somehow track in the house, no matter
what you do to prevent it. And, I was tired of it! So, I cleaned my house! I
vacuumed, then swept the whole house with the electric sweeper.
I grabbed
another cup off coffee, took off the stove grates and drip pans, put them in
the dishwasher and ran a load through. I washed the stove top and the sink. I
also did a load of laundry that consisted of all the towels in the house and my
bathrobe.
Next,
I washed the kitchen floor (after moving all the chairs and the rolling cat
into the living room). I watched some taped TV shows while that dried.
When
it did, I moved everything back into the kitchen, washed the bathroom floor and
then the office floor. It was 9:45 PM when I finished. I got the
load out of the dryer and hung up the towels and my bathrobe.
I
watched one more taped DIY show and then went to bed.
