Wednesday morning, it was cold and still raining. But
the weatherman on the 6:00
AM news said it would stop by noon.
Before I left for work, I taped a sign on my garage door and put a cone in the
driveway, so the mulch delivery guys would know where to dump it. I already told the
girl on the phone where I wanted it, but I worry…
Michelle from Facilities came by to drop off my soup
container. This time it was filled with a soup her husband made. She didn’t
remember the name of it but said it was an Olive Garden knockoff. I hope its Italian Wedding Soup. I love that stuff, but have never tried to make it. I did take my
morning walk outside, but I didn’t like it.
At lunchtime, I drove home in heavy wet snow!!! I
guess I didn’t understand all the possible ramifications of “it will stop
raining.” I stopped at Home Depot and bought some landscape fabric. I couldn’t
believe how miserable it was being outside at the end of April!!! I dropped it off at home
and ate my last two brats for lunch.
I walked inside during the afternoon. Screw it!
I drove home in light rain (the snow was gone). When I
got there, there was a mountain of mulch in the drive (and all of it in the
right place). Good Lord, that’s a lot of mulch!
I took a couple of pictures for you and then went
inside. I watched the news (cursing at the weatherman although he’s a different
guy at night) until everything ended at 7:00 PM.
While I was watching, I first brushed Caley, who put up with it for a bit and
then jumped off the bed. Then I brushed Scruffy, talking softly to him to keep
him calm. I was impressed with his demeanor until he whirled around and gashed
my left hand with his teeth (well, one slash and two puncture wounds). It took
a long time (and a lot of Band-Aids) after I washed my hand with peroxide to
get it to stop bleeding. See photos. Next time, I’ll use welding gloves!
Then I painted the living room wall. This time I used
a roller instead of the brush I used for the primer. Even though the sun had
come out (a little late there, Mr. Sun!), I turned on all the lights to make
sure I got everything covered.
It was well past 8:00 PM when I finished and then
cleaned up. So, I just warmed up the last of the slow cooker lasagna (I’m
running out of leftovers!) and made two more thick slices of garlic bread. I
ate that after joining the hockey game which was already in progress. We won
again! I celebrated by going to bed.
