(Or, as Pooh would say, "The Blustery Day!")
I woke up early (well, before the alarm) on Friday. It had stopped raining, but was definitely windy! We have a “wind advisory” until 10:00 a.m.

I was getting ready to leave for work when I saw the basket with
little packets of oyster crackers sitting on the table (where I had set them
two days ago) and realized I completely forgot to take them to the “chili cook-off”!
Sidebar: I really freakin’ hate getting old…
I damn near blew away walking in the morning.
I was hoping to get two errands run and still eat lunch, so
I stopped at the Time Out first. Big mistake! The place was packed and they
were one waitress short, so it took forever to get my lunch. I’ll have to do
the errands on Monday.
It was sprinkling during my afternoon walk and it was still
windy.
I was stopped by a big train crossing Inkster on the way
home after work. That’s the first time it’s happened in a long time. When I
finally got there, I treated the cats and went outside to check the rain gauge.
I got just over 1 1/2 inches of rain on Halloween!
I made a can of Campbell’s split pea and ham soup for my
supper and put some of those oyster crackers in it.
I glued together one book while watching TV, by putting two
dots of Elmer’s glue on each page. Since that particular book had 341 pages, it
took a long time! When I was done, I took the book out to the garage and clamped
it shut to dry. I hope it dries flat or this project is a bust!

It's a sign. Go sit down and write the hit single, "Basket of Crackers."
ReplyDeleteYou really have to glue each page? Got to be a better way
ReplyDelete@ Jake: Something like
ReplyDelete"Basket of crackers,
Whole bottle of wine,
A little bit of chili,
And I forget things all the time..."
@GPF: Working on it now. $20 antique book warped all to hell and can't be used, except for maybe a doorstop. Sigh...
I was thinking the same thing, GPF. Maybe a small roller, contact cement the edges and clamp? It'd help if we knew what needed to be persevered. Maybe just rip out the pages and put in a wood spacer.
ReplyDeleteAll will be revealed, my son (and Brother).
ReplyDeleteSidebar:why does spell check insist that "Brother" be capitalized but not "son." I think there's some sort or age/generation discrimination going on here!
captaink...it's all good. Brother should be capitalized - much older than the son
DeleteLMAO! Yes, that's true!
