It was an abnormally warm day on Wednesday, with an eventual
high of 51 degrees F. here in Redford. But, it was cloudy and damp, so it didn’t
feel all that nice.
For the first time in a long time, I had to make myself go to work. Long vacations
are not good for my work ethic, LOL!
Sidebar: You know how I talked so much about eating so much
while on holiday (as the British say)? Well, I figured I had probably gained 10
pounds, even though I am supposed to “maintain my weight” now. But, when I got
on the scale this morning, I actually lost one pound! How the hell did that
happen?
I went to Lowe’s at lunch and bought a chalk line. Now I
know I have one, but it didn’t show up in the garage cleaning (and that’s
almost done now). And, I don’t even really need a “chalk line,” I need a plumb
bob. But, since a chalk line can be both, I figured it was the best bet.
I found out that while I was gone, they decided to have a holiday
potluck luncheon at work. It was originally slated for Thursday, but thankfully
they moved it to this Friday. Of course, that means I have to shop at lunchtime
tomorrow and then cook when I get home…
It finally was 5:00 p.m. and I was headed home. I got the week’s
worth of mail and a package that UPS left on the porch and went inside. I sat
on the bed and sorted through the mail (mostly catalogs) and nearly filled up
my trash basket with the discards.
I had just enough laundry to do the Wednesday Night Wash
(can’t ignore tradition) and I watched the rest of the news while it ran
through the washer and dryer.
When the news ended at 7:00 p.m., I started thinking about
dinner. I wasn’t really hungry (I haven’t been “hungry” since I went down
south) so I decided a nice, light meal might be some wild rice. I made a box of
Uncle Ben’s and ate that watching TV, waiting for the hockey game.
I watched the game to the bitter end (we lost 6-3!) and then
went to be around 10:30.
