After all the snowing and blowing on Sunday, I knew the
roads would be bad. So, I hustled and left early. It was bad out there, but the
four wheel drive helped a lot!
It was only when I got out of the truck at work (I was the
first there) that I realized I hadn’t grabbed my knit hat or gloves on my way
out! Dumb!
I took along some of my split pea with ham soup and at 10:00
a.m., I walked it over to Michelle in Facilities. She laughed and said she was
just on her way over to see me. She had a container of turkey (instead of
chicken) lemon rice soup they had made over the weekend. So, it was a win-win
on both our parts.
I went to the Newburgh Grill at lunch and got a bowl of soup
and a mini Greek salad. Then I went to Lowe’s and picked up the stain for Carl’s
bar seat. The temperature had been dropping all day and I really missed my hat
and gloves in the Lowe’s parking lot!
The main roads were just sloppy and I finally got to put the
truck into two-wheel drive. That made turning into tight spaces a WHOLE lot
easier!
When I got home after work, I treated the cats and then took
the trash can out to the road. I went
inside and changed clothes. Then I watched the news until 7:00 p.m.
At the end of the news, I went downstairs and stained the
bar stool top. I set it on two boards to dry. Tomorrow I’ll probably have to
flip it over and stain the underside (at least where it touched the two wood
pieces). I cracked the window just a bit so the fumes wouldn’t build up and
blow up the house.
Note to self: This was the wrong day to do this!
I made my last turkey sandwich (for a while – I froze the
rest of the turkey when I got it) and ate that, along with a bowl of split pea
and ham soup, for dinner.
I watched back-to-back episodes of Hollywood Game Night. I’m
not sure why, but I really like that dumb show! Then I went to bed.
