Sunday was wonderful for one reason: my toilet flushed! But
it was snowing all day…
I hard-boiled all but the brown eggs Jake and Carla bought
so they wouldn’t go bad. I ate two of them with the new horseradish I bought
and cried for 15 minutes. That sh*t was HOT!!!
I started the major clean up in the main floor of the house.
The kitty litter downstairs that was on the floor was still wet, so I couldn’t
do anything with it, then.
I had thawed the Christmas roast out and used it to make a
beef vegetable soup around 4:00 p.m. I sautéed an onion and some celery in the
Dutch oven while I trimmed the beef. I threw the beef in with some garlic, the
little bit of chicken broth left and a whole box of beef broth. I added in a
half bag of mixed frozen veggies, the leftover fresh hash browns and the rest
of the kale that Carla bought. Sounds weird, but it tasted good!
I had two bowls, let the rest cool and then put it in
freezer containers.
My daughter Melissa called a little after 6:00 and we
chatted for a short while (for a change). Then my friend Vicky called about
8:30 p.m. to ask if they had “snow days” where we worked. I laughed (I couldn’t
help it) and told her no. But, I told her to stay home anyway and take a vacation
day (I already decided to do that myself). There is no reason to get stuck or
in an accident just to go to work…
Sidebar: I seriously think I am about ready to retire…
I watched a movie and then went to bed around 10:30 p.m.
What kind of a company d you work at that doesn't have snow days???
