I felt like hell on Tuesday. Really. My face felt like
somebody hit it with a board (sinuses, I suppose) and my left eye kept watering.
I stopped on the way into work at CVS and got four boxes of Kleenex
(my nose was getting raw from blowing it on the toilet paper and paper towels
at work). Then I went to Home Depot and bought a contour buffing kit to finish
Carl’s bar stool seat.
I spent the morning at work, coughing, sneezing, wiping my
eye and blowing my nose. Oh, yeah, I did some work, too…
At lunch, I went to Kroger’s. I got a few things I needed
and restocked my Campbell’s soup shelf (10 for $10). I dropped that off at the
house and then went back to work, without having time to eat.
But, my friend Michelle had brought me in some chili they
had made over the weekend. No recipe (according to her), just an amalgamation
of things. She said she was getting tired of kidney beans, so she used fava
beans. Never had them before, but they were huge! This was also the first time
I ever saw mushrooms in chili.
But, it tasted good and definitely filled me up! Plus the
chili powder seemed to help clear my nose up for a little while.
So, when I finally got home, I warmed up the taco meat and
made three tacos (this time with taco sauce) and heated up some refried beans
(bought today). I ate that watching the news and just stayed in bed for the
rest of the evening.
My ribs were starting to hurt from the coughing and sneezing
and I kept dozing off, so I never really finished a TV show. When I woke up at
11:30 p.m., I shut off the TV and went to bed.
Sidebar: I kept telling myself the second day of a cold was
the worst. I hope it’s true.
