We were back in the deep freeze Thursday, with a stiff wind.
I think the high was only 10 degrees F. I had the cupboard doors under the sink open
all night and I left them open when I went to work.
I had a maybe crazy idea that Caley might be needing a bit
of distraction while I was gone. At first I was gonna leave the TV on, but then
decided it probably would save a little electricity if I just turned on the
radio. So, I did.
It was snowing when I left and I drove through a whiteout on
the way to work. There were several snow squalls in the morning, but the sun
eventually came out. It didn’t warm anything up, though. The wind was killer!
It was too damn cold to drive home and stop at stores (like
I’d planned), so I just went out and got a sandwich for lunch.
After work, I was pleased to see that Caley wasn’t so clingy
tonight. I think my idea worked! I wasn’t pleased to find a hairball on the
bed, though. So, I put the bedspread into the washer…
I had a cup of green tea and went to work on the computer. I
wanted to install the Office 365 subscription software I had bought on it. It
took three calls to the Microsoft Tech support line, but I finally got it
installed and working by 7:30 p.m.
I was hungry, but didn’t feel like cooking the dinner I’d
planned. So, I made yet another smoked turkey sandwich, but this time ate it
with some Better Made chips and green olives.
I watched the Red Wings again, and they were fantastic! They
won 6-1, so I went to bed happy.
Oh, we are supposed to break another record tonight for the
coldest February 28th EVER, so the cupboard doors stayed open.
Sounds like it's been a rough winter up there.
ReplyDeleteIt's been brutal! But, not just here. You gotta admit you guys in South Carolina probably haven't had a winter like this one before either. Damn the Polar Vortex!

ReplyDelete@GPF: Office 365 is the complete 2013 Office Suite that is sold on a subscription basis. Unlike traditional software, and changes to the product (like if they introduce an Office 2015, you get it). You get any updates and tech support. So, I called them because I paid for it!
Dishwasher should be done Saturday. Sunday, it will be exactly two months since it was delivered!
Two months!? Kangaroos have a shorter gestation period!

ReplyDeleteWell, it includes Word 2013, Excel 2013, Powerpoint, Access, OneNote, Outlook email, etc. You can also load it on your smartphone, save documents in the cloud and you get like (I forget now) 60 hours a month free Skype calls. Plus, you get 5 licenses so you can share with other users.
