I did not “choose wisely” with my coats on Thursday. It was
not that cold outside, but the wind was fierce. I wore my jacket and the wind
killed me walking into Home Depot.
I determined that, through trial and error, I needed a #6 1 1/2
brass screw for the magnetic knife block. Unfortunately, they don’t sell brass
ones that long. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because you can strip them so easy?
So, I bought good old regular silver ones.
Spring arrived at 12:57 p.m. I went to Building 50 at lunch to pick up my friend’s
motorcycle seat. They did a hell of a job on it!
She stopped by at work and picked it up. I was a little
nervous as she’s pretty picky about her bike. But she loved it! (Thank God!)
Once I was home and changed, I got to work. I replaced the
one good brass screw and put in the other so now my knife rack is up and the
screws match.
Then I got out my needle nose pliers and pulled out the used
wall anchors from the tile. I was more or less successful as I only had to
drill out one.
Finally, I drilled out two of the three holes in the plastic
rod retainers. This should let me bolt it down without cocking the retainer. I’ll
have to use longer screws and washers, of course. I tried to take pictures to
explain, but not sure they are good enough to really see what I mean.
I warmed up the last of the corned beef hash for my late
dinner. I watched a little TV and then went to bed.
