Tuesday’s Tale

It was freakin’ cold outside Tuesday morning. I dug my winter coat out of the closet before leaving for work.

The snow had melted on the roads, but lingered on the grass. So, needless to say, my morning walk was inside.

I stopped at Time Out and had a fantastic lunch. It was a special: a chicken breast, topped with Cajun seasoning and melted Swiss cheese and a side of cold potato salad. From there I went to the Foodliner store and bought three bags of Better Made potato chips. Oh, and a large bottle of water.

Back at work, the afternoon passed slowly. I was trying to wrap any outstanding items up as I was going on vacation.

I am taking my first real road trip in some 40 years. I have got a new vehicle (so there should be no problems) and am planning on a two-day ride to South Carolina and visiting Jake, Carla and Whiskey for Easter.

My neighbor has been notified and will watch the house. I got a recommendation from Carla for a hotel halfway down and booked a room (I’m too damn old to sleep in rest areas like I did on my last road trip out west, back in the 70’s).

So, I started getting things together from my list (there’s always a list). I washed a load of laundry so everything would be clean in the house. I called B___ and let him know of my plans.

When I was hungry, I warmed up the other steak, some mashed potatoes and the rest of the peas. Even as leftovers, that was still delicious!!!

I stopped to get my fill of NCIS. I decided since I don’t dare leave until rush hour is over, I could finish in the morning. So I went to bed.
